The Pittsburgh Penguins have activated goaltender Matt Murray from injured reserve, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Jim Rutherford.

Goaltender Casey DeSmith was re-assigned to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.
Murray, a two-time Stanley Cup champion, leads Pittsburgh with 11 wins in 21 games played this season. He has missed the past five games with a lower-body injury suffered on November 27 against Philadelphia.
The Penguins begin a three-game road trip this Thursday night when they visit the expansion Vegas Golden Knights. That game will begin at 10:00 PM local time. Fans can watch that game on AT&T SportsNet, or listen to the Penguins' official radio flagship, 105.9 The X.
