Malkin Skates

by Sam Kasan / Pittsburgh Penguins

Penguins center Evgeni Malkin skated in Pittsburgh for roughly 30 minutes on Wednesday morning. It's the first time he's conducted physical activity since suffering a concussion last Friday in a game against the Florida Panthers.

"Malkin did skate back in Pittsburgh," head coach Dan Bylsma said. "He was symptom-free (Tuesday) and progressed to exercise today. I think he was on the ice for 30 minutes or so."

There is no timetable or schedule set for Malkin moving forward.

Malkin suffered short-term memory loss after falling hard into the end-boards at CONSOL Energy Center in the third period of Pittsburgh's 3-1 win over the Panthers. Malkin left the game and did not return.

Note: The Penguins practiced at BB&T Center in Sunrise, Florida Wednesday. Defenseman Paul Martin was the only player that did not participate. He was given the day off for maintenance.
