was named the NHL's Third Star of the week, the league announced on NHL.com
Malkin has a five-game point streak after exploding for five goals and three assists in three games last week. He had Pittsburgh's lone tally in a 4-1 loss to Detroit and struck for a goal and an assist in a 6-4 defeat against Ottawa.
