Lists: Malkin's 10 Best Instagram Photos

by Sam Kasan / Pittsburgh Penguins
Penguins center Evgeni Malkin has been a dominant force in the NHL since his rookie campaign. But he's also a dominant force in the social media world. Malkin's social media presence, whether on Twitter or Instagram, blows away nearly all of his sports competitors.

Here is a look at his 10 best Instagram photos (in no particular order):

Malkin made a stop at the Aviary to see the birds. He even, as you can see below, let a few parrots flock to his outstretched arms. Maybe he was teaching them some English phrases (you can add your own punchline here).

Malkin is a lover of all animals. And they love him back.

BONUS: A little off-roading in the snow.

He's no Paul Rudd, but Malkin has the fun-loving personality of a kid. So he's clearly a natural with children.

Denis, left, and brother Evgeni, right, as a couple of youngsters in Magnitogorsk. "Geno" still has the same haircut today.

Over the course of his career, Malkin has accumulated quite a few trophies. None more important than the one in the middle of the pack.

6. BFFs
Sergei Gonchar took Malkin under his wing the moment his fellow countryman arrived in the United States in 2006, literally. The elder Gonchar housed Malkin during his first few seasons in the NHL and the two have become inseparable. Malkin even dedicated his 2012 NHL MVP award to his friend "Gonch." The two show up quite regularly in Malkin's Instagram feed - whether fishing, boating, at dinner or working out together.

Below they celebrate 2013 New Year's in Moscow.

When Gonchar and the Senators played the Penguins in the playoffs, Gonchar visited Malkin's house. The two went for a little joy ride.

Pens equipment manager Dana Heinze found some old goalie masks. Malkin couldn't help himself after discovering the head gear. He made a fellow Penguin wear the masks for a photo op. Can you guess his masked partner? (Answer below).

After living with Gonchar in his first two seasons, Malkin bought his own home in 2008. Of course, the house needed some decorations. What better than a huge shark?

Malkin doesn't just have a deadly aim when it comes to shooting a puck. He's also a master on the pool table. His favorite non-hocky game is shooting billiards. So he had one put in his home so he could continue to hone his skills.

There's no doubt in my mind that the best pic ever posted by Malkin was the animation of four Penguins with player attribution. Just further proof that Malkin can laugh at himself (and oddly the "Geno" penguin does kinda look like Malkin).
