Penguins defenseman Jordan Leopold left the game near the end of the first period after colliding with Ottawa's Andy Sutton in the neutral zone. Leopold fell limp to the ice and was aided by head athletic trainer Chris Stewart. After several minutes, Leopold was able to get to his feet and skate to the locker room. He did not return in the game.
Here is the update that head coach Dan Bylsma gave after the game on his condition:
"He is being evaluated. Obviously he didn’t return to the game. He is suffering from the hit. He will be evaluated further tomorrow to see where he is at."
