How long have you been following the Pens and how did you become a fan?
As soon as I really started watching and following hockey I became a Pens fan, which was when I was about 8 in 2003. I have been playing hockey since I was 3 but only really started watching it and following the league around that time. I would always root for the underdog and that's what they were then, going through financial woes, although I did not know about that at the time. Since then I have been obsessed, and since Crosby got drafted he has been my favorite player solely because of his leadership, his amazing skill, his personality, and I guess his looks help him out a little bit too.
Who is your favorite Penguins player (past or present)?
Tell us about your favorite Penguins memory.
My favorite Penguins memory was when I went to my first NHL game which was also a Penguins game. Crosby had just gotten back from his concussion in November and I was ecstatic to see him play on December 16, 2011 against the Senators. Then he got hurt again before the game. I was at first upset about this but knew I'd be seeing all of my other favorite players play. They are all amazing players and Malkin is a beast out there. Something that made it really special was when James Neal threw me a puck during the warm up. The Penguins players aren't only the best players, they have the best personalities. They ended up losing the game, but just seeing them all out there playing together was all worth it.
On a game day I usually...
On game day I check my Pens iPod app for any updates or news. I also check the website. I get the game day report with injury updates, lines, and any other news. I also compare stats of the Pens and the team they are playing. I check back for news every couple of hours. Then I either watch the game with my jersey and hat on or if it's not on my television I listen to the radio coverage of the game and get any updates in the game blog and twitter feed.
