“I like to move it, move it - you like to move it!” These enthusiastic song lyrics could be heard during “Moving Day,” an inspirational walk held in the North Shore in support of the National Parkinson Foundation. The Ice Crew and Iceburgh had the opportunity to join in on the event by partaking in the warm-up, meeting some of the participants and cheering on the walkers from start to finish.
During the warm-up we all had an enjoyable time joining the walkers for some dancing, stretching and cardio that celebrated movement. While completing the exercise with the participants, it was uplifting to notice the shirts they were wearing in support of a loved one who was affected by the disease; it truly made us happy that we could be a part of such a worthy cause.
Following the work out routine, we supported all who were engaging in the promenade by cheering on their efforts throughout the 1.5-mile walk. As a result of the event, over $106,000 was raised in support of the National Parkinson Foundation. The Ice Crew is always proud to be able to represent the Pittsburgh Penguins organization during events such as this, and look forward to being involved in many more!
Until next time,
