Humes, Kucerovy, Ford and Clark Honored By Penguins As Highmark High School Hockey Players Of The Month

by Staff Writer / Pittsburgh Penguins
Dan Humes of Fox Chapel, Danny Kucerovy of Bethel Park, Jordan Ford of Kittanning and Jeff Clark of Erie McDowell are being honored tonight by the Pittsburgh Penguins as Highmark High School Hockey Players of the Month for February

The Penguins and Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield honor high school players of the month four times each season.

Humes, a senior center, rang up five goals and 14 points in five games for Fox Chapel, including a natural hat trick in a 6-1 win over Central Catholic.  His leadership qualities have been evident all season.

Kucerovy, a junior forward, recorded five goals and 10 points in three games for Bethel Park.  He is an alternate captain, plays a key role in the team’s charity work, and ranks among the top 10 scorers in Class AAA.

Ford, a junior forward, exploded for eight goals and 14 points in four games as Kittanning went 4-0 for the month. The alternate captain also leads Kittanning with six short-handed goals.

Clark, a senior defenseman, is the first defensive defenseman to be honored this season. An alternate captain and PIHL all-star, he always plays against the opponent’s top players and is active in both his school and his community.

The Penguins are proud supporters of the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Hockey League (PIHL), as well as all local amateur hockey.
