Pittsburgh Penguins broadcasters Phil Bourque and Dan Potash will join members of the Chatham University women’s hockey team as featured speakers at the Penguins’ second “Hockey ’n Heels” event for female fans on Saturday when the Pens take on the Carolina Hurricanes at Mellon Arena. The event is sold out.
The pre-game program begins at 5 p.m., with presentations from Bourque, a two-time Stanley Cup champion who is the Penguins’ radio analyst, and Potash, the Penguins’ rinkside reporter for FSN Pittsburgh. Members of the Chatham University women’s team will then explain rules of the game, talk about equipment the players use, and answer questions.
After dinner, all participants will attend the Penguins-Hurricanes game.
“The positive feedback from our original “Hockey ’n Heels” program was overwhelming, so we’re looking forward to more opportunities to reach out to our growing base of female fans,” said Dave Soltesz, the Penguins’ vice president of sales and marketing.
The Penguins’ first “Hockey ’n Heels” event in November was sold out, and all tickets to the Feb. 2 event sold quickly. As a result of that interest, the Penguins are planning a third “Hockey ‘n Heels” event for March. Details will be provided shortly.
