GAME PREVIEW

The Pittsburgh Penguins take on the Vegas Golden Knights for their first of two meetings this year and only the ninth meeting all-time. Doors to the arena will open at 6:00 PM. The Penguins will host the first game tonight at PPG Paints Arena at 7:00 PM ET. The Penguins are 3-1-0 at home against the Golden Knights and 5-3-0 alltime. Last season the Penguins were 2-0-0 against the Vegas Golden Knights, outscoring them 10-5 and converting at 33.3% (2/6) on the power play. Jeff Carter led the Penguins with four points (1G-3A) against the Golden Knights last season in two games played.

Pittsburgh has points in nine of its last 11 games overall (7-2-2). Since this 11-game stretch began on Nov. 9, only the New Jersey Devils (18) and Toronto Maple Leafs (18) have picked up more points than Pittsburgh (16).

2000s Night is proudly presented by 105.9 The X and Schneider Downs, with DJs from 105.9 The X. Throughout the evening, the band "Jukebox" will perform a variety of cover songs from the 2000s.Former Pittsburgh Penguins and 2009 Stanley Cup champions Tyler Kennedy and Max Talbot will be at the game to relive some of the Penguins' best moments of the 2000s. The Penguins will wear their 'Reverse Retro' jerseys, throwing it back to the uniform they donned in the 2000s.
A free green screen photo booth as well as Dance Dance Revolution and Guitar Hero games will be available to fans by the Wall of Champions Hallway, located on the FedEx Level behind the Captain Morgan Club between sections 110 and 115, through the end of the second intermission. The Penguins will include numerous video and musical elements from the 2000s in the in-game presentation.

UPDATE ON KRIS LETANG

Penguins defenseman Kris Letang is out indefinitely after suffering a stroke on Monday, it was announced today by General Manager Ron Hextall.
Letang, 35, is not experiencing any lasting effects of the stroke and will continue to undergo a series of tests over the next week. There will not be any further updates to his condition until all testing is completed and a medical plan is in place. His condition is not believed to be career threatening.
