OPTIONAL MORNING SKATE UPDATES
After the Penguins held an optional practice on Saturday in Pittsburgh, the team had an optional morning skate today at Madison Square Garden. Head coach Mike Sullivan provided the following injury updates during his media availability:
- Captain Sidney Crosby, winger Rickard Rakell and goaltender Tristan Jarry -
who all took part in yesterday's skate
- are all continuing to progress and will be game-time decisions for tonight.
- Forward Brian Boyle is week-to-week with a lower-body injury after leaving in the first period of Game 6. "He's been a big part of our team," Sullivan said. "He's a great teammate. He's a good leader. He's a real good shot blocker. That's a loss for us, on the penalty kill in particular. He's been a big part of it."
- Defenseman Brian Dumoulin, who has not played since Game 1, is continuing his rehab off the ice. His status has not changed.
