QUICK HITS

Pittsburgh was 5-0-1 this season following a loss of any kind at PPG Paints Arena.
The Penguins are 18-9 all-time under head coach Mike Sullivan in the playoffs following a loss (7-1 in 2016; 7-2 in 2017; 3-2 in 2018; 0-3 in 2019; 1-1 in 2020).
Since Sidney Crosby entered the league in 2005-06, no team has more playoff wins than Pittsburgh's 98. The next closest team is the Boston Bruins with 84 wins.
The Penguins have seven players on their postseason roster looking to make their NHL playoff debut - forward Radim Zohorna, defensemen Mark Friedman and Juuso Riikola, and goaltenders Casey DeSmith, Alex D'Orio, Maxime Lagace and Emil Larmi.
Forward Frederick Gaudreau netted his first goal of the 2021 playoffs on Sunday against the Islanders. Gaudreau, who has five goals in 103 regular-season contests, now has four goals in nine career postseason games.

HOT START

Forward Evan Rodrigues made his NHL playoff debut in Game 1 against the Islanders, picking up an assist on Frederick Gaudreau's first-period goal. In doing so, Rodrigues became the fourth member of Pittsburgh's roster to record a point in their postseason debut.

DUMOULIN MOVING UP THE RANKS

Defenseman Brian Dumoulin skated in his 75th career playoff game with the Penguins on Sunday, surpassing hall-of-famer Larry Murphy (74) for sole possession of third place on Pittsburgh's all-time games played list among defensemen.
The Pittsburgh blueliner also picked up an assist on Sidney Crosby's goal, giving him 24 points (4G-20A) in his playoff career, tying Paul Martin (24) for sixth place on the franchise's all-time points list among defensemen.

O' CAPTAIN, MY CAPTAIN

Penguins captain Sidney Crosby led by example once again on Sunday, picking up a goal in the second period in Game 1 against the Islanders. The goal was the 69th of Crosby's playoff career, moving him into a tie with Washington's Alex Ovechkin for the second-most postseason goals among active players.
