1.The Pens lead the First Round series, 1-0, following a demonstrative 7-0 victory in Game 1. Pittsburgh is 14-2 in its past 16 home playoff contests.
2.Sidney Crosby tied Mario Lemieux for the franchise record by scoring his 3rd career hat trick in Game 1. It was a natural hat trick, highlighted by his hitting a puck out of the air on a blind, backhand swing.
3.Goalie Matt Murray posted his 3rd consecutive playoff shutout in Game 1, stopping all 24 shots against. Murray has a club record 206:26 straight minutes of shutout action, dating back to Game 4 of the 2017 Stanley Cup Final.
4.Despite surrendering 5 goals on 19 shots and being pulled halfway through Game 1, head coach Dave Hakstol said the club will go back to goaltender Brian Elliott to start Game 2.
5.The Flyers are 38-32 all time in Games 2, and 20-18 after losing Game 1. When the club wins Game 2, it has gone on to win the series 30 out of 38 times.
