The Pens open the 2017-18 season with a banner raising and the start of (another) title defense. Opening week is presented by RAM Trucks.

5 NOTES ON THE GAME:

1. The Pens will raise their 2016-17 Stanley Cup championship banner to the rafters in a pre-game ceremony.

2. Pens changes:

OUT - Nick Bonino, Matt Cullen, Trevor Daley, Marc-Andre Fleury, Cameron Gaunce, Ron Hainsey, Chris Kunitz, Derrick Pouliot, Mark Streit, Oskar Sundqvist, David Warsofsky

IN - Matt Hunwick, Greg McKegg, Antti Niemi, Ryan Reaves.

3. Greg McKegg is penciled in as the team's third-line center to start the season.

4. Reaves and Sundqvist are facing their former teams for the first time in the regular season since being traded in late June.

5. Kris Letang will play in his first NHL game since Feb. 21, 2017 at Carolina.
