Game Preview: Pens-Blues

After beating Columbus in overtime, 4-3, on Friday in Pittsburgh, the Pens flew to St. Louis for a matchup with the Blues.

The Pens are hoping to avenge a 3-0 shutout loss to the Blues on Jan. 24 in Pittsburgh, where Carter Hutton made 34 saves in the blanking. That was just the third time this year the Pens have been kept off the scoresheet … Evgeni Malkin suffered a lower-body injury in the game that has kept him out for 3 games … Marc-Andre Fleury will likely make his first start tonight since Jan. 14 in Detroit … Phil Kessel played in his 800th NHL game on Friday against the Blue Jackets. He scored the overtime power-play goal that capped off a 4-3 victory, and ended up with a three-point night (2G-1A) … Patric Hornqvist also scored to give him 5 goals in his last 5 games … Pittsburgh injuries: Malkin (lower body); Conor Sheary (upper body) … The Blues relieved Ken Hitchcock of his duties as head coach on Wednesday. Former Pens assistant coach Mike Yeo has taken over behind the bench … The Blues defeated Toronto 5-1 on Thursday in his debut. Paul Stastny scored twice and added an assist, Colton Parayko had a goal and two assists and Vladimir Tarasenko extended his goal-scoring streak to 3 games ...
