* The Pens face the NY Islanders twice over the next week, starting tonight in Pittsburgh and on Long Island on Monday.

* Only two points separate the Pens and Isles in the NHL standings. That's the difference between third place in the Metro (NY, 29 points) and 12th in the East.

* Winger Patric Hornqvist posted his 2nd career hat trick (a natural trick) against Colorado. He posted all 3 tallies in 2:47 minutes - the fastest recorded hat trick in Pens' history.

* Pittsburgh has already recorded 4 hat tricks this season: Phil Kessel; Jake Guentzel; Sidney Crosby; Hornqvist.

* Crosby has 110 points (35G-75A) in 64 career games against the Islanders, most against any team in his career.

* The Islanders are 10-2 against the Metro this season.

* Islanders Josh Bailey is sitting on 399 career points (131G-268A). He will become the 14th player in team history to reach 400.
