FSN Announces 2009-10 Pittsburgh Penguins TV Schedule

FSN, the exclusive rights holder to Pittsburgh Penguins regional hockey game telecasts, announced today it will telecast a minimum of 70 contests in the 2009-10 regular season, all available in high definition.  Coverage begins with the season opener versus the New York Rangers on Fri., Oct. 2 at Mellon Arena. FACEOFF Penguins Pregame presented by Trib Total Media is live at 6:30pm hosted by Stan Savran.  Immediately following every game will be Penguins Postgame with Rob King and former Penguin Jay Caufield.


"When the defending Stanley Cup Champions raise the banner on October 2 on FSN it will be a historic night.  Not only will we celebrate the franchise's third Cup, but the game will launch the first season during which FSN Pittsburgh will deliver all 70 of the Penguins games in HD,” said FSN Senior Vice President & General Manager Ted Black.

All 82 of the Penguins NHL games will be televised with a minimum 70 games regionally on FSN Pittsburgh. Versus plans to carry eight games nationally.  In addition, the Penguins can be selected for up to four regular season games on NBC. The NHL will offer flexible scheduling again this season for NBC.  Paul Steigerwald and Bob Errey return as the voices of Penguins Hockey on FSN.

Outside of game coverage, FSN will continue to provide the team and its fans with related programming highlighted by Spotlight: Penguins Preview 09’ Presented by the Washington County Tourism Promotion Agency debuting Mon., Sept. 28 at 7pm followed by The Raw Tapes: Pens Summer Celebration '09 presented by McDonald’s at 7:30pm.  Debuting in October and November will be In My Own Words: Sidney Crosby, Season IV, The Raw Tapes: Pens Summer Celebration ’91 as well as The Raw Tapes: Pens Summer Celebration ’92 all presented by McDonald’s.  FSN will continue the popular Penguins Instant Replay, a two-hour replay of the game, as well as the 30-minute Penguins Rewind for most games this season.
