The Pittsburgh Penguins have sent goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (AHL) for a conditioning assignment, it was announced Sunday by Executive Vice President and General Manager Ray Shero.
Fleury has missed 28 games since suffering an ankle injury on Dec. 6 in a game vs. the Calgary Flames. He had won four consecutive starts prior to his injury posting a 1.00 goals-against-average, a .955 save percentage, and one shutout in those four victories. Fleury has appeared in 21 games with the Penguins this season and holds a 9-8-1 record including two shutouts. He ranks fourth on the Penguins all-time list with 66 career victories.
