Fans Can Watch Game 4 on Outdoor Screen at Mellon Arena

The outdoor TV screen that has become such a fan favorite during the Penguins’ 2008 Stanley Cup playoff run will again be showing tjhe national broadcast Game 4 of the Cup Final against the Detroit Red Wings.


Game 4 will be played Saturday night, starting at 8 p.m. Both games will be televised nationally by NBC.

As with the first three rounds of the playoffs, the Penguins have set up a 12x16 LED screen in front of the Gate 3 entrance at Mellon Arena. Thousands of fans have gathered to watch the broadcasts and enjoy the playoff atmosphere.

For the first two games of the Stanley Cup Finals in Detroit, the Penguins opened Mellon Arena to fans and showed the games on the Jumbotron.

“The response of our fans continues to be phenomenal,” said Penguins president David Morehouse. “Thousands of our fans came to Mellon Arena to watch Games 1 and 2 on the Jumbotron, and now we’re looking forward to getting the outdoor screen going again for our two home games this week.”

For safety reasons, the team asks fans not to bring grills or tents to the Gate 3 area. Also, alcohol is prohibited.
