Notables
* The Pens finish off their final back-to-back series of the season by hosting the Philadelphia Flyers. Pittsburgh is looking to bounce back after a 5-1 setback on Saturday afternoon to St. Louis.
* Tonight is the final meeting between the two clubs. Their last showdown was in the Stadium Series at Philadelphia's Lincoln Financial Field on Feb. 23. The Flyers scored 2 goals in the final 3 minutes of regulation before winning, 4-3, in overtime.
* The Pens lost defensemen Brian Dumoulin (concussion) and Kris Letang (upper-body) in the 1st period of that Stadium Series contest on the same play. Dumoulin, who missed 3 games, was hit by Philadelphia's Wayne Simmonds (since traded to Nashville). Letang, who was injured while coming to Dumoulin's aid, has yet to rejoin the lineup.
* Despite the setback to St. Louis, the Pens are still 7-2-2 in their last 11 games. Pittsburgh is 2 points behind the NY Islandres for 2nd place in the Metro Division.
* Philadelphia is 7 points out of a playoff spot with 11 games to play. This next week will go a long way in determining its fate.
* The Flyers are coming off of a dramatic contest in Toronto. Philadelphia lost the game, 7-6, as 13 goals were scored on 80 combined shots.
* Forward James van Riemsdyk recorded his 5th career hat trick against the Maple Leafs, but it wasn't enough.
Injuries
PIT - Zach Aston-Reese (lower-body), Kris Letang (upper-body), Olli Maatta (upper-body), Chad Ruhwedel (upper-body), Bryan Rust (upper-body).
PHI - Michal Neuvirth (lower-body).
