Dates Set for Pens-Caps Series

The National Hockey League today announced the matchups and dates for the 2009 Stanley Cup Playoff Conference Semifinal round.

National broadcast information and start times will be announced when finalized.  NBC and VERSUS provide national television coverage in the United States, and CBC, TSN and RDS will televise nationally in Canada. Every Conference Semifinal game can be heard on Sirius XM Radio, the Official Satellite Radio Partner of the NHL.  

The Penguins will take on the Washington Capitals in the Eastern Conference semifinals. The dates are below. The NHL will announce times of the best-of-seven series shortly.

Saturday, May 2 - Pittsburgh at Washington
Monday, May 4 - Pittsburgh at Washington
Wednesday, May 6 - Washington at Pittsburgh
Friday, May 8 - Washington at Pittsburgh
*Saturday, May 9 - Pittsburgh at Washington
*Monday, May 11 - Washington at Pittsburgh
*Wednesday, May 13 - Pittsburgh at Washington
*If necessary

The Boston Bruins will face the Carolina Hurricanes in the other Eastern semifinal.

The Capitals advanced by defeating the New York Rangers, 2-1, Tuesday night in Game 7 of their first-round series.

The Hurricanes advanced by coming from behind to beat the New Jersey Devils, 4-3, Tuesday in Game 7 of their series.
