The Pittsburgh Penguins head to Washington on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in search of a victory.

FSN Pittsburgh will televise the contest at 7 p.m., while 3WS (94.5 FM) will start its radio broadcast with a pregame show at 6:30 p.m. The broadcast may be found live through streaming audio on as well. The Penguins (14-36-12) trail the Capitals (21-33-6) by eight points (48-40) for last place in the Eastern Conference. However, Pittsburgh owns three victories over Washington this season.

The game features the season’s final battle between super rookie Sidney Crosby and Alexander Ovechkin. The Russian (41+35) leads Crosby (29+39) in the rookie scoring race, 76-68. However, has outscored Ovechkin, 8-3, in a trio of head-to-head meetings.

Ovechkin is on fire for the Capitals. He has scored goals in six-straight games and has 10 points (7+3) in his last six contests.

Penguins rookie Colby Armstrong will look to extend his points streak. He has registered eight points (1+7) in his last five games, while John LeClair has nine points (4+5) in his last five. Rookie defenseman Ryan Whitney has five points (1+4) in his last three games, while Ryan Malone has tallied three points (1+2) in his last three games.

The Penguins return home for a weekend series. They welcome New Jersey to Mellon Arena on Saturday and meet Philadelphia at home Sunday night.
