CONSOL Energy Center has been selected to host preliminary round games of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament in 2018.

The NCAA made its preliminary site selections today for men’s basketball tournaments in 2016-18. Eight sites were chosen for each of the three seasons.

“We’re excited that the NCAA has selected Pittsburgh and CONSOL Energy Center to host preliminary round games of the men’s basketball tournament in 2018,” said Tim Hassett, general manager of CONSOL Energy Center. “And we are very much looking forward to hosting preliminary round games this season, in 2015. It’s a great opportunity for our fans to see the highest level of men’s college basketball.”

Duquesne University will again be the host school.

CONSOL Energy Center first hosted NCAA men’s basketball tournament preliminary round games in 2012.
