MINNESOTA (June 23, 2011) -- For the first time since 1989, the NHL Entry Draft will return to the State of Minnesota. The Minnesota Wild and Xcel Energy Center are set to host the two-day event beginning on June 24, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. CT. For many prospects, the NHL Entry Draft is the first step in their NHL career – a dream that many have carried since they first put on skates at an early age. Bloodlines will run deep in the 2011 Entry Draft as many fathers, uncles, brothers and cousins have played and been drafted to the NHL.

The  following  is  a  list  of  NHL  ties of players ranked by NHL’s Central  Scouting -- all these notes and more can be found on the NHL Entry Draft Microsite:

BELL, ZACH (No. 179 ranked) - His father, Bruce, was drafted 52nd overall in the 1983 by Quebec. A defenseman, he played for Quebec, St. Louis, NY Rangers and Edmonton (1984 – 1998) and was named to the NHL All-Rookie team in 1985.

BIGGS, TYLER (No. 22 ranked)
- His father, Don, was drafted in 1983 by Minnesota (156th overall) and in 1987 he played 11 games with the Philadelphia Flyers. He is currently the head coach and GM for the Junior ‘A’ Queen City Steam, in the Central States Hockey League.

BLOMQVIST, ALAN (No. 71 ranked European) - His brother, Anton, was selected by the Columbus Blue Jacket, 167th overall in 2009.

CAMERANESI, TONY (No. 178 ranked) – His cousin, Robby Dee, was drafted 86th overall by Edmonton in 2005 and plays for the University of Maine.

COUTURIER, SEAN (No. 6 ranked) - His father, Sylvain, was drafted 65th overall by Los Angeles in 1986 and played 33 games with the Kings between 1988-89 and 1991-92 – he is now the General Manager of the Acadie-Bathurst Titans in the QMJHL.

CRAMAROSSA, JOE (No. 63 ranked) - His father, Vito, was selected 122nd overall by Washington in 1984.

CZARNIK, AUSTIN (No. 115 ranked) - His cousin, Robert Czarnik, was drafted 63rd overall by Los Angeles in 2008 --- he completed two seasons at the University of Michigan and played for the Plymouth Whalers in the Ontario Hockey League last season.

DONNELLY, DILLON (No. 117 ranked) - His father, Gord, was drafted 62nd overall in the 1981 by St. Louis -- he played for Quebec, Winnipeg, Buffalo and Dallas appearing in 554 games (28-41-69), totaling 2,069 penalty minutes. He is currently a scout for the Chicago Blackhawks.

GRANLUND, MARKUS (No. 9 ranked European) - His brother, Michael, was selected 9th overall in 2010 by the Minnesota Wild -- he currently plays for HIFK in Finland.

HAMILTON, DOUGIE (No. 4 ranked) - His brother, Freddie, was selected 129th overall by San Jose in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft and plays for Niagara with Dougie in  the OHL.

HUDON, PHILIPPE (No. 74 ranked) – His great, great uncle, Albert
“Battleship” Leduc, played defense for the Montreal Canadiens, New York Rangers, and Ottawa Senators between 1925 and 1937 – he won two Stanley Cups (1930, 1931) with Montreal.

JENNER, BOONE (No. 18 ranked) - He is the nephew of former NHLer Bill Carroll -- Carroll won four Stanley Cups, three with the New York Islanders (1982, 1983 and 1984) and one with the Edmonton Oilers (1985).

KOUDYS, PATRICK (No. 76 ranked) - His father, Jim, was selected 252nd overall by the New York Islanders in 1982.

LARSSON, ADAM (No. 1 ranked European) - His father, Robert, played 249 games with Skelleftea from 1985-95 and was drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in the sixth round (No. 112 overall) in 1988.

LOWE, KEEGAN (No. 88 ranked) - His dad, Kevin, is a six-time Stanley Cup champion and current President of Hockey Operations for the Edmonton Oilers.

LOWRY, ADAM (No. 58 ranked) - His dad, Dave, played 1084 NHL games for Vancouver, St. Louis, Florida, San Jose and Calgary (1985-2004) and was an assistant coach with the Calgary Flames the 2010-11 season.

LUCIA, MARIO (No. 34 ranked) - His brother, Tony, was drafted 193rd overall in 2005 by the San Jose Sharks and played at the University of Minnesota where he was a forward and captain.

MORROW, JOE (No. 12 ranked) - His father, Dave, was drafted by Vancouver in the 1977 amateur draft and by the Cincinnati Stingers in the WHA draft and his brother, Josh, was drafted 203rd overall in 2002 by Nashville.

MURPHY, CONNOR  (No. 25 ranked) - His father, Gord, was drafted in 1985 (189th overall) by Philadelphia and went on to play 14 years in the NHL, with the Flyers, Boston Bruins, Florida Panthers and Atlanta Thrashers. He is currently an assistant coach with Florida.

MUSIL, DAVID (No. 38 ranked) - His father, Frantisek (38th overall by Minnesota in 1983), had 34 goals and 1,241 penalty minutes in 14 NHL seasons as a defenseman with the North Stars, Flames, Senators and Oilers. His uncle is two-time Stanley Cup champion, Bobby Holik (10th overall by Hartford in 1989).

MCMULLEN, PETER (No. 200 ranked) - His grandfather, John McMullen, bought the Colorado Rockies in 1982 and relocated them to New Jersey to become the Devils and his father, Peter, just completed his 12th season as executive vice president of the Devils and 28th year with the organization.

NAMESTNIKOV, VLADISLAV (No. 11 ranked) - His father, Evgeny Namestnikov was drafted 117th overall by the Vancouver Canucks in 1991 and played 43 NHL games with the Canucks, New York Islanders and Nashville Predators from 1993 to 2000 before returning to play in Russia. His uncle is former NHLer and Stanley Cup Champion Vyacheslav ‘Slava’ Kozlov.

PIETILA, BLAKE (No. 105 ranked) - His cousin, Dwight Helminen, was drafted 244th overall by Edmonton in 2002 -- he played at the University of Michigan and has debuted for the Carolina Hurricanes and the San Jose Sharks.

REILLY, MIKE (No. 52 ranked) - His father, Mike, played at Colorado College and was drafted 140th overall in 1977 by the Montreal Canadiens. His older brothers, twins Ryan and Conner, play in the USHL for the Sioux Fall Stampede.

RUUTTU, ALEXANDER (No. 16 ranked European) – His father, Christian, was drafted 134th overall by Buffalo in 1983 and played nine seasons in the NHL with the Sabres, Chicago Blackhawks and Vancouver Canucks. He is now a scout with the Phoenix Coyotes.

SANDLAK, CARTER (No. 192 ranked) - His father, Jim, was drafted fourth overall in 1985 by the Vancouver Canucks – he played 11 seasons in the NHL and was nicknamed ‘the house’.

ST. CROIX, MICHAEL (No. 59 ranked) - His father, Richard, was a goaltender, drafted 72nd overall by Philadelphia in 1975 and went on to win the Stanley Cup with the Dallas Stars (1999) as a member of the coaching staff. His brother, Chris, was drafted 92nd overall by the Calgary Flames in 1997 and currently plays for the Las Vegas Wranglers in the ECHL.

WOODS, BRENDAN  (No. 147 ranked) - His father, Bob, was drafted 201st overall in 1988 by the New Jersey Devils and is currently the assistant coach of the Washington Capitals.
