Come Play All Day for Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC

Mary Beth and Dan Bylsma, Pittsburgh Penguins head coach; Jacqueline and Jamie Dixon, University of Pittsburgh Men’s Basketball head coach; John Banaszak, Robert Morris University Football assistant head coach; Karla Hurdle, spouse of Clint Hurdle of the Pittsburgh Pirates; Jane and Chris Gessner, Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC president; and many more at the “Team Children’s 2012 Sports Fest: Champions at Play” event at Robert Morris University Island Sports Center on Saturday, June 16 from 10 am to 4 pm.

Throughout the six-hour sports carnival, coaches and athletes from the city’s professional and area collegiate/high school teams will help Children’s Hospital champion the cause of fitness and good nutrition. The activities for children and their families will feature hands-on activities in hockey, football, baseball, basketball, softball, volleyball, track, golf, cheerleading, soccer, lacrosse and other fun sports.

The event also will include giveaways, exhibitors providing information and fun activities to learn about healthful eating and exercising, and much more.
