by Staff Writer / Pittsburgh Penguins
Robert Morris will take on Ohio Sate in the Pittsburgh College Hockey Showcase Friday, Nov. 14, at Mellon Arena. The NCAA Division I game will start at 8 p.m.

For the first time in College Hockey Showcase history, the Robert Morris women’s team will participate in the event. The preliminary game that night will feature the Robert Morris women’s hockey team against conference rival Niagara at 5 p.m.

“We are very excited to be playing a quality opponent in Ohio State again this year in the Pittsburgh College Hockey Showcase,” said Robert Morris men’s head coach Derek Schooley.  “This showcase has turned into a high profile event for our athletic department and our university over the past two years.  We are grateful that the Pittsburgh hockey community has been supportive of this event. We couldn't have made the showcase a success without the help of the Pittsburgh Penguins and the staff of Mellon Arena.”

Last year in the event, Robert Morris fought Ohio State to a 5-5 tie in an overtime thriller in front of a crowd of 4,301, setting a new home attendance record for the Colonials. In the second half of the series, Robert Morris defeated Ohio State 4-3 at Value City Arena in Columbus, Ohio.

Tickets are on sale now. They are priced at $10 for general admission and $15 for reserved and are available by visiting Ticketmaster, the Mellon Arena box office or by calling 412-323-1919.
