6:18 PM:
Here is the lineup for tonight's "Black and Gold Game"

Team Black:
Coach: Todd Reirden

Team Gold:
Coach: Mike Yeo

6:59 PM:
The starting lineups for both teams were introduced and we are moments away from the drop of the puck.

19:59: The puck is dropped between Evgeni Malkin and Sidney Crosby and the Black and Gold Game is underway.

16:34: Defenseman Robert Bortuzzo goes to the box for hooking. Team Gold is on a power play.

15:10: Team Gold strikes first with a power-play goal. Dustin Jeffrey had the puck behind the net and fed Luca Caputi in front. Caputi buried the shot past Brent Johnson for the score. Gold 1, Black 0.

13:21: Eric Tangradi intercepted an errant pass in the high slot. His shot eluded Marc-Andre Fleury but clanged off the goal post.

12:24: Evgeni Malkin gained the blue line and made a beautiful pass to spring Ruslan Fedotenko on a breakaway. Fedotenko juked and tried to slide the puck through Johnson's five-hole but the goalie was able to get a pad on it.

7:15: The recently re-united trio of Cooke-Staal-Kennedy had an impressive shift, keeping the puck in the offensive zone for an extended period of time.

5:49: Joey Haddad goes to the box for two minutes and Team Black goes on the power play.

5:35: Team Black gets on the board with a power-play tally. Crosby had the puck above the near circle and faked a slap shot. He then sent a cross-ice backdoor pass to Goligoski, who lifted the puck over Fleury's shoulder for the goal. Black 1, Gold 1.

3:52: Good friends Staal and Fleury exchange face rubs after Fleury gloves a puck and Staal skated hard into the crease.

0:00: The first period comes to an end with the game tied at 1-1. Gold holds a slight edge in shots, 8-7.

The second period is about to begin. John Curry replaces Fleury in net for Team Gold.

19:21: Ryan Bayda just nailed the post with a shot.

16:17: Alex Goligoski goes to the box for a hooking penalty. Team Gold goes on the power play. Thus far, both teams have converted their first man-advantage opportunities.

15:24: Crosby was killing the penalty when he sprang loose on a breakaway. He deked Curry but his shot sailed wide of the net. The penalty expired without a goal.

12:37: Goligoski buries a shot to give Team Black the lead. Goligoski faked a shot, waited for a lane to clear and then unleashed a slap shot into the top far corner of the net. Black 2, Gold 1.

10:24: Staal has a couple cracks at the puck in front of the net but Curry slams the door with his pads.

7:39: Kunitz goes to the box for two minutes for hooking. Team Gold goes on the power play.

5:32: Kunitz leaves the box and catches a flip pass to head in on goal one-on-one with Curry. Kunitz's shot, however, is suffocated by the goalkeeper.

4:05: Adams gets a great opportunity with a one-timer from the slot but Curry blocks the puck.

2:47: Curry makes a great save on Tangradi in the crease. Curry stacks his pads and then smothers the puck.

2:27: Guerin rips a shot from the slot that's batted away by Johnson.

0:21: Team Black takes a penalty to Eric Godard for tripping. Gold's power play will carry over into the third period.

0:07: Curry just made two incredible back-to-back stops. First he stacked the pads against Kennedy's shorthanded breakaway chance. Then Gonchar swooped in to get a rebound shot on net. Curry got his blocker up to make the save.

0:00: The second period expires with Black leading, 2-1. Black also holds the edge in shots through two periods, 23-17.

20:00: The third period begins with Brad Thiessen taking over in net for Johnson for Team Black.

19:00: Team Black three-on-one chance with Letang as the lone defender back. Letang made a great play of laying on the ice to block the passing attempt.

18:14: Godard exits the penalty box and has a breakaway on net. His shot sails over the post. Kunitz takes a hooking penalty during the play and Team Gold goes on a power play.

17:23: Team Gold is using Fedotenko on the point for their power play.

15:25: Goligoski scores his third goal of the game for a hat trick to give Team Black a 3-1 lead. Goligoski's shot from above the far circle caromed off of the skate of Nick Johnson and trickled between the legs of Curry. Black 3, Gold 1.

9:46: Haddad goes to the box, giving Team Black a power play and a chance to increase their lead.

7:27: Mike Rupp scores his first goal in a (Baby) Penguins uniform. Rupp snapped a shot from the lower far circle and elevated over Thiessen's shoulder. Black 3, Gold 2.

4:19: Jay McKee's shot sneaked through Thiessen but an alert defender swatted the dangerous puck out of the paint.

3:36: Crosby goes the penalty box and Team Gold has a golden opportunity (sorry had to) to tie this game up on the man-advantage.

3:05: Adams does a nice job while killing the penalty by muscling Malkin off the puck and clearing the zone.

2:25: Cooke has a chance to ice the game with a shorthanded breakaway but is turned away by Curry.

1:22: The announced attendence for the "Black and Gold Game" is 8, 322. A strong showing of support by the Baby Penguins' fans.

1:00: We're down to the final minute of play in the contest. Team Gold has called a timeout and pull Curry for the extra attacker.

0:00: The game concludes with Black prevailing, 3-2. The final shots were 30-28 in favor of Black.

The three stars were: 1. Goligoski; 2. Caputi; 3. Crosby.
