Ken Lehman’s overtime goal lifted Bethel Park past Meadville, 7-6, Wednesday night in the 84 Lumber PIHL Penguins Cup Class AAA semifinals.
Bethel Park will battle North Allegheny, a 2-0 winner over Mt. Lebanon, for the championship at Mellon Arena on Sunday at 5 p.m.
The game-winning goal capped a hat-trick for Lehman, who also had an assist for the Blackhawks. He sent the game into overtime with a goal with 1:15 to play. His overtime tally came with 5:59 left on the clock in OT.
Dave Spadacene and Logan Bannon both had a goal and two assists. Graham Cohen had a goal and an assist, while Tom Whetsel added two assists. Bryan Brown and Matt Quigley both had a pair of assists.
Pete Cosentino had 20 saves to earn the win in goal.
Morgan Nickerson led Meadville with three goals and two assists. Pat Leone and Mike Noonan both had a goal and an assist. Cody Peterson, Nick Fedorka, Aaron Nye and Dan Allegretti all had assists.
North Allegheny 2, Mt. Lebanon 0
Matt Lancaster scored twice to lift the Tigers past the defending Penguins Cup and state champion.
Josh Herbert and Wes Waldschmidt both had assists for North Allegheny. Max Richards stopped all nine shots he faced to earn the victory in goal.
