Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins forward Beau Bennett was selected to represent the Eastern Conference in the Dunkin Donuts AHL All-Star Classic on Thursday.
The 20-year-old Bennett, who was returned to WBS by the Penguins earlier in the day, was one of 12 rookies chosen to play in the AHL All-Star Classic, which will be held Jan. 27-28 in Providence, R.I.
Bennett, a 6-foot-2, 207-pound forward, leads WBS in both points (24) and assists (18) while appearing in 30 AHL games this season.
Bennett, who was drafted by the Penguins in the first round (20th overall) of the 2010 NHL Draft, spent the past week participating in Pittsburgh’s NHL camp. He tallied a power-play goal on Wednesday night in the Penguins’ ‘Black and Gold’ Game at CONSOL Energy Center.
