Colby Armstrong has been added to Team Canada’s roster for the upcoming IIHF World Championship in Russia.
Armstrong had 12 goals and 22 points in 80 games for the Penguins this year. The right winger added 67 penalty minutes and was a plus-2. He had one power-play goal and added a short-handed tally. He was one of the Penguins’ top penalty killers as well.
Armstrong joins Jordan Staal on Team Canada’s roster. Sidney Crosby was also invited to play, but could not participate due to a broken bone in his left foot.
Other Penguins who will participate in the World Championships include: Evgeni Malkin and Sergei Gonchar (Russia) and Jarkku Ruutu (Finland).
The tournament begins Friday in Russia.
