Team Canada punched its ticket Friday to the women’s gold medal game with a 6-0 triumph over Finland.
Gillian Apps, daughter of former Penguins star Syl Apps, continued her torrid scoring pace. She had a goal and three assists for Canada, which has outscored its four opponents, 42-1. Apps leads all scorers with seven goals. She has five assists and is third overall with 12 points.
Canada will attempt to defend its gold medal against Sweden at 2:30 p.m. Monday. Sweden upset the United States in a shootout, 3-2, to advance to the gold medal game.
