Yormark officially announced his chairmanship last night at the Light The Night Corporate Sponsor Thank You Reception at the Hyatt Pier 66 in Ft. Lauderdale.
In 2010, the Panthers raised a record $130,000 against a goal of $100,000, and Yormark was the top individual South Florida fundraiser at $50,000. On the whole, Light The Night raised more than $915,000, but LLS has set a fundraising goal of $1,000,000 in 2011.
Yormark will begin his chairmanship by hosting the Light The Night Corporate Recruitment event at the BankAtlantic Center on Thursday March 31 at 5:30 p.m., prior to the Florida Panthers-Ottawa Senators game. Admission to the event is complimentary and comes with a ticket to that evening’s Panthers game. “I am thrilled and honored to return as walk chair for the 2011 Light The Night Walk in Broward County,” Yormark said. “To put it simply, I was emotionally and physically moved by last year’s campaign and the amount of lives and people it touched. To be able to share that with my family, and develop such a strong bond with Light The Night Honored Hero C.J. George, was an experience that I continue to cherish. But our work is far from done. I want to thank everyone that supported my chairmanship and Light The Night last year, and ask that – like the Panthers- you come back for another year. The million dollar march begins now.”
“We’re so pleased Mr. Yormark has agreed to return as the Broward Walk Chair for Light The Night in support of LLS,” said Joanne Davis, executive director of the Southern Florida Chapter of LLS. “His contributions to last year’s success cannot be measured, and we are eternally grateful for his personal support as well as the support of The Florida Panthers.”
