Florida Panthers prospect Garrett Wilson has been named team captain of the Owen Sound Attack (Ontario Hockey League) for the upcoming 2010-11 season.

"It's an honor to be named captain and Marcus is a great leader and he taught me a lot," Wilson said at Owen Sound's annual awards barbeque of outgoing captain Marcus Carroll. "It will be a tough job filling his shoes.
Wilson, 19, played in 65 games for Owen Sound (OHL) this season pacing the club with 36 goals, while ranking fourth on the team with 61 points (36-25-61). The Elmvale, Ontario native was awarded five year-end team awards, including the Jerry Reid Memorial Award, recognizing the club’s most valuable player.

Wilson was selected by Florida in the fourth round (107th overall) in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
