More than 250 fans filled incredible ICE on Saturday morning and braved the below freezing temperatures inside the rink to watch the team’s open practice. After the skate the players and Head Coach Peter DeBoer came directly off the ice, in their full equipment and signed autographs and took photos with the fans.

Tomas Vokoun was given the day off after returning from the Olympics and did not skate with the team and Nathan Horton (broken leg) also did not practice with the club.

After practice, most of the discussion surrounded the much anticipated gold medal game with Team USA playing Team Canada on Sunday afternoon.

“David Booth and I made a friendly wager on Sunday’s game,” said DeBoer. “If Canada wins Boother has to wear a Team Canada jersey at practice on Monday, if USA wins David will provide me with some type to Team USA apparel to wear at practice.”

Chris Beckford-Tseu was reassigned to the Florida Everblades (ECHL) after practice on Saturday and is expected to start in goal when Florida hosts Carolina this evening in Estero. The Panthers will practice at incredible ICE in Coral Springs on Sunday at 10:30 a.m.
