Panthers play-by-play man Steve Goldstein is in Vancouver to cover the Olympic games for Westwood One radio. And while he's there, he'll be blogging on his experiences and his thoughts on the hockey tournament and the Olympics in general. Only seen on floridapanthers.com, enjoy as Steve brings you closer to the action (unless you're actually in Vancouver and at the games that is).
It was the experience of a lifetime.
The feeling in the arena, especially when Zach Parise scored to tie it, was inexplainable. I did my best to stay focused on broadcasting the game and painting the picture for the listeners but it was really hard to, knowing we were going to overtime as he tied it with about 24 seconds to play in the game. The Canadians were the last to celebrate when Sidney Crosby beat Ryan Miller in overtime, giving the host country the gold.
The Olympic tournament and the Gold Medal game were epic. I'm fortunate to have been a part of it and I will never forget it.
Thanks for reading the blog and new pictures from the postgame are up. See you all on FoxSports Florida!
