SUNRISE, Fla. – In an article published in the Thursday, Feb.2 edition of USA Today , incredible ICE – the official practice facility of the Florida Panthers – was named one of "10 great places to cut a fine figure eight."
The 10 places were picked by 1992 women's figure skating Olympic gold medalist Kristi Yamaguchi, as part of USA Today's ongoing Winter Olympics preview coverage.
In the article, Yamaguchi is quoted as saying, "with an indoor figure skating rink [incredible ICE] is a great place to practice."
Predictably, incredible ICE was the southernmost facility on the list and the only one located in Florida.
"Certainly we are excited to get this type of recognition in a nationally read and recognized publication such as USA Today," said SSE vice president/ general manager of incredible ICE Jeff Campol. "Our staff takes an incredible amount of pride in running a top notch skating facility and this type of honor will only give us more motivation in serving the skating enthusiasts of South Florida."
Incredible ICE is open seven days a week and is a 75,000 square foot, state-of-the-art, twin ice skating and entertainment facility. Over 500,000 people visit incredible ICE each year. For information on hockey leagues or skating programs please call 954-341-9956 or visit www.incredibleice.com.
