The Force Is With SSE

by Staff Writer / Florida Panthers
SUNRISE, Fla. – Sunrise Sports & Entertainment announced today that over 7,000 fans – many clad in related costumes and garb – visited the BankAtlantic Center for an exclusive performance of Star Wars: In Concert on Halloween Eve, October 30. Meanwhile, the Florida Panthers went on the road for two consecutive wins, 6-5 in a shootout over Dallas on Friday and 4-0 over St. Louis on Saturday night.

At the BankAtlantic Center on Friday night, fans were treated to a musical tour through the Star Wars universe by a full symphony orchestra, choir and narrated live by C-3PO himself, Anthony Daniels. While the Panthers home ice was occupied by Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia and company, the Cats were taking care of business in the Lone Star State.

Forward Steven Reinprecht’s natural hat trick and Rostislav Olesz’s pretty breakaway goal in the third period and shootout winner staked the Panthers to a 6-5 win over the Dallas Stars. Then one night later Tomas Vokoun was spectacular in net in earning his first shutout of the season over the St. Louis Blues. Florida is now 4-7-1 through 12 games – the same exact record through 12 games as last season, when it missed the playoffs by virtue of a tiebreaker. The Cats are currently just three points out of second place in the Southeast Division and four points out of the eighth and final Eastern Conference playoff spot.

The Panthers are back on home ice for two games this week against division rivals the Carolina Hurricanes (Wednesday) and Washington (Friday), before heading on the road at the Capitals on Saturday night.

All three games will be broadcast live on Fox Sports Florida and 790 the Ticket and tickets are still available for the two home games by calling 954-835-PUCK or logging on to FloridaPanthers.com.
