Well, even after last night’s game against the Flyers, we must continue to believe. The team played hard but we just couldn't get that second goal. I know everyone is disappointed, but we need to look forward now and get ready for our matchup with Atlanta tomorrow, and hope that we get some help from the Bruins (vs. Montreal) and Flyers (vs. the Rangers).
It truly is amazing that our season has come down to the last two games. Jacques mentioned to me in September that the race was going to be tight all season long and that it could come down to our game against Washington on April 11 to determine if we make the playoffs or not. I guess he hit it right on the nail.
Once again, we need to make sure that we have an exciting, sold out BankAtlantic Center on Saturday night to support our Panthers. If you have not purchased tickets, we still have good seats available. Bring your family and friends as the atmosphere is going to be electric. I've always said that playoff-like hockey is the best live event in the world. Well, you can experience it LIVE on Saturday - all you need is a ticket.
I want to thank all of our fans that have e-mailed me over the past 24 hours since I posted my first blog. I have responded to each one of you and will continue to do so. Your feedback and comments are very important to me, so don't hesitate to take a moment and e-mail me (firstname.lastname@example.org) your thoughts. Thanks in advance.
As you all know, I am a sponsorship salesman at heart and I really enjoy creating new relationships for SSE. One of our new partners is the Fontainebleau Miami Beach resort (www.fontainebleau.com). I had the opportunity to stay there over this past weekend and I had an awesome time. I was joined by my entire family from New Jersey as it was my Mother's 70th birthday celebration. I must say that the much talked about renovations are just incredible. The hotel, pools, restaurants, beach area and service are second to none. I have stayed at many properties on South Beach, and none of them compare to this fabulous resort. If you are looking for a quick get away with your significant other or family, this would be a great choice.
I will be traveling to Atlanta tomorrow morning with Pedro Goncalves and Chad Johnson, our two Sr. VP's, to meet with some of our current sponsors and to attend the game against the Thrashers. I know the team is going to play well and if I was a betting man, I would pick the Panthers. My score prediction is Panthers 4, Thrashers 2. Assuming we win and Montreal or New York lose, Saturday's game against Washington will be HUGE! I hope to see you here.
Well, it’s time to get back to work as I have been up since 3:15 a.m. I am an early riser and I train with the best trainer in South Florida, Manny Mair from Coral Springs, at 4 a.m. most weekday mornings. If you are looking for a trainer, he is really the best. I can e-mail you his information if you would like.
Have a great day and most importantly, continue to BELIEVE!
