Sunrise Edition: Busy Summer Continues

Hello fans. I am on my way to LA on business for the next 36 hours. Lots of meetings within the entertainment side of our business, as well as a few sponsor meetings.

Additionally, my associate Pedro Goncalves, who oversees our broadcasting, and I are meeting Randy Freer of FOX Sports today for lunch. Randy is in charge of all of the FOX regional sports networks and was instrumental in making sure FOX Sports continued their coverage of Panthers hockey for the next three years.

Moving forward, things at the BankAtlantic center are extremely busy.  We are continuing to work on all of our plans for the '09-10 hockey season, while preparing for our incredible lineup of concerts and shows over the next few months. Our VP of Event Programming, Sid Greenfeig, has done a terrific job of securing the best artists on tour to play our building this summer. He has a huge announcement coming up on his latest “win” so stay tuned for the big announcement and please follow the BankAtlantic Center on Twitter.

One of the many things we are focused on right now is developing our single game ticket sales strategy for Panthers hockey. I really want to increase the number of individual tickets we sell for each of our games. This is a top priority for our staff.  We are considering re-pricing our inventory while potentially shrinking our overall capacity to generate more demand and to enhance the game experience. As you may know, we have the fifth largest building in the NHL and it’s challenging to sell every seat for every game. If you have any specific suggestions or feedback on this issue, please e-mail your comments to me directly at I would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks in advance.

Furthermore, I am excited to report that Goldie and Billy Lindsay have been meeting every day to review game tapes from last season. Without a doubt, they are going to be a great team and very entertaining to watch and listen to on our FOX Sports broadcasts. I know that you will agree with me once you have the opportunity to see them in person.

Well, I am about to land in LA. I guess I missed the Ducks vs. Red Wings game by one night but I plan on watching Game Seven of the Capitals vs. Penguins tonight on Versus. Needless to say, I'm rooting for the Caps.

I will keep you updated on our progress in celebrity land. Have a great day and go Panthers go.
