Stanley C. Panther Placed On Injured Reserve

by Staff Writer / Florida Panthers
SUNRISE, Fla. – Sunrise Sports & Entertainment announced today that Florida Panthers team mascot Stanley C. Panther has been placed on injured reserve after sustaining an undisclosed injury while attempting to hurdle a folding chair during Florida’s 6-2 victory over the Buffalo Sabres on Dec. 17.

Stanley is currently confined to a wheelchair and is listed as day-to-day, but will still be present at Panthers games during the recovery process. However, in support of his recovery, local South Florida mascots Billy the Marlin (Marlins), Sebastian the Ibis (Hurricanes), Burnie (Heat) and T.D. (Dolphins) will be at the BankAtlantic Center tonight, when the Cats take on the Bruins, and at various other home games while Stanley is still on the mend.

In addition, fans can sign a giant “Get Well” card for Stanley on the JetBlue Tarmac and the BankAtlantic Center’s plaza level on gamenights, send a “Get Well” e-card through FloridaPanthers.com (starting Jan. 3), or bring their own “Get Well” cards to home games.
