by Staff Writer / Florida Panthers

SUNRISE, Fla.The Florida Panthers welcomed more than 500 fans to the second ‘Cats Cookout’ of the summer. Panther fans were treated to free hot dogs and hamburgers, and the night was highlighted by an announcement that the Panthers will hold a 1996 Panthers reunion game at the BankAtlantic Center on Saturday, July 28.

Current Panthers players D Noah Welch, C Stephen Weiss and RW Nathan Horton were all in attendance to sign autographs and meet with the fans. In addition, former Panthers Bill Lindsay and Ray Sheppard were on hand for the special announcement regarding the 1996 Panthers reunion game.

“It was really great to once again see all our loyal fans,” said Lindsay. “We all look forward to the reunion weekend in July. It should be a great time to reminiscence about the success that we had in 1996, as well as a great opportunity to spend some time in the South Florida community, that embraced us during our run for the Stanley Cup.”
