Following the huge success of last season's Kelli's Korner, floridapanthers.com would like to introduce this season's BOVA Panthers Ice Dancer blogger, Yendi. A rookie this season, Yendi will be sharing her thoughts on this upcoming season from what's going on with the dancers to what's going on and off the ice, as well as anything else that she cares to discuss in her blog known as ROOKIE RANT.

This past week the BOVA Panthers Ice Dancers were on Grand Bahamas Island at the Pelican Bay Resort. The liquid sunshine was in full effect and perfect for the best photo shoot in Ice Dancers’ history. The girls were getting their sexy on as we did shots for the 2010 Bova Panthers Ice Dancers Calendar. You are probably thinking “wow what a great getaway,” right? Actually, the entire four days were action packed with 16 hour work days, hair and makeup, wardrobe malfunctions (we were wearing bikinis, so you can imagine). Regardless of the long hours and hard work, we managed to have a great time.
It’s amazing to see everyone’s personalities unfold as we got more comfortable around each other. I would have to say that we are the goofiest, silliest, funniest dancers I know. Don’t let the sexiness fool you – the Ice Dancers are down to earth girls that will easily chow down a pizza and play video games. We (the Ice Dancers) decided that the boys on our crew are like our brothers. Our trip to the Bahamas has jump started a crazy practical joke war between the dancers, Stanley, and the crew – this should make for great locker room antics during the season.
This week’s Rookie is Tere, the sexy Dominican girl who loves to goof off. She is silly, keeps us laughing and sometimes busts out with some crazy dance moves for no reason. We got to spend some time together on our trip and Tere is definitely one of those girls that can get very defensive if you say anything negative about the team. Her sass makes this petite Latina one of our favorites. She has Panther Pride written all over her and makes the whole experience fun.
Check back with me next week as I recap our first game and what happens when 18 girls share one locker room and a passion for practical jokes. See you on the ice!
