Rocco Grimaldi Recalled from Portland Pirates (AHL)

SUNRISE, Fla. – Florida Panthers Executive Vice President and General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that Rocco Grimaldi has been recalled from the Portland Pirates, the club’s American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate.

Grimaldi, 22, has played five games for Portland this season, recording three assists.

The 5-foot-six, 180-pound forward played in seven games for Florida during the 2014-15 season, recording one goal and four PIM. He recorded 42 points (14-28-42) in 64 games with the San Antonio Rampage (AHL) last season.

The Anaheim, Calif., native was selected by Florida in the second round (33rd overall) of the 2011 NHL Draft.

The Panthers also announced that Aleksander Barkov has been placed on Injured Reserve.
