Barkov Chasing Bure

On April 1, Aleksander Barkov notched three assists in a 5-3 win against the Washington Capitals. The third assist, on an empty-net goal by Vincent Trocheck, tied him with Pavel Bure for most points in a single season in franchise history with 94.

"Of course, it's a nice milestone for me," said Barkov, who has set new career-highs in goals (34) and assists (60). "It means that I'm playing with really good players and we're having fun. We're creating chances and scoring goals. That's a really fun thing. My biggest goal is to make the playoffs and win the Stanley Cup, but right now it's a nice milestone for me."

With one game left in the 2018-19 campaign, Barkov will attempt to break the record when the Cats take on the Devils in their season finale at BB&T Center on Saturday at 7 p.m.

Trocheck's Blog

In his final player blog for the season, Vincent Trocheck details the team's mentality at the end of this season and the feelings of the group as they head towards the offseason.

"I think there are some things mentally that we need to figure out, character and maturity-wise. I think we're all starting to realize that now. But it's time for us as a core and as a leadership group to realize that we've got to start winning now and we've got to come together to realize what it takes to do that," Trocheck wrote. Trocheck also hit a milestone earlier this week when he tallied the 100th goal of his career. Congrats!

Panther for a Day

On March 23, Jakob Raab was honored as the Panthers 2019 "Panther for a Day" as part of the club's Autism Awareness initiatives in partnership with Ford. Jakob watched and interacted with players during a morning skate and was invited back to BB&T Center on April 1 to drop the puck during Autism Awareness Night.
