Rats Roundup - April 1

by Kyle Morrison / Florida Panthers
Good news, Internet – this week’s Rats Roundup is an April Fools-free zone. You’re welcome.

How sweet it is to be back atop the #Catlantic Division.

With their 43rd win of the season last night, the Panthers tied a franchise record for single-season wins, set back in 1999-00. Al Montoya made some huge saves – including a string of them during a shorthanded sequence – and kept the Devils at bay. Jonathan Huberdeau scored two highlight-reel goals, adding to his career-high goals total this season.

Talk about a sharp angle.

The 22-year-old Quebec native has found the back of the net 18 times so far this season, and with five games to go, he could very well add to that total.

Playoff Tickets On Sale Today

Set an alarm for 3 p.m. today, because that’s when Panthers 2016 Stanley Cup Playoff tickets go on sale. Full details can be found here.

If you’re a full season ticket holder, premium ticket holder or sponsor, you can partake in an online pre-sale today at 10 a.m., and if you’re a half season or partial plan holder, you can grab yours at noon. If you are in the pre-sale groups, you will recieve your link to purchase in your email.

Otherwise, cancel your afternoon meetings, take a half day if you must – just make sure you’re at a computer when the clock strikes three – because you can’t miss the Cats’ first playoff cameo since 2011-12.

Nick Bjugstad: Shih Tzu Whisperer?

Bjugy’s Blog is a must-read for Cats fans every week – but this week’s is quite possibly his greatest literary work.

There’s plenty of great stuff – fishing tales, an Easter Bunny costume and stories of Al Montoya’s economic prowess – but the best part is the introduction of Milo, the Shi Tzu Mauxie that Bjugstad recently adopted.

Suffice to say, Milo is a very good dog, oh yes he is.

"The best part is that he’s such a calm dog. He actually wants to nap more often than I do, which is saying a lot. Overall, the whole experience has been really fun."

There’s also plenty of top-notch hockey talk, if that’s your thing.

GIF Highlight of the Week

Both of Huberdeau’s goals last night came from remarkably sharp angles. Is he secretly a geometry expert? All of the signs here point to yes.
