Chase Priskie is on quite the roll.
Selected as the AHL Player of the Week on Monday, the 25-year-old defenseman registered six points (two goals, four assists) to help the Checkers pick up wins in all three games he appeared in last week.
But that production is only a small part of the story.

After racking up five points in back-to-back wins over Rochester on Tuesday and Wednesday, Priskie, along with three of his teammates, was called up from Charlotte to play for the Panthers against the Kings on Thursday after several of the team's regulars had entered into the NHL's COVID-19 protocols.
Stepping up on the blue line, Priskie, who was skating in just his second-ever NHL game after previously making his debut back on Nov. 4, recorded three hits, one blocked shot and one takeaway while seeing 25:29 of ice time in a 4-1 loss to Los Angeles -- the second-most minutes of any Panther in the contest.

Returning to the Checkers, he then scored the game-winning goal in a 3-1 win over Bridgeport on Sunday.
"He played exceptional," Panthers interim head coach Andrew Brunette said of Priskie. "He used his feet. I thought he managed the game very well. He picked the spots to be up in the rush. He battled when he needed. He was heavy on pucks. … I'm sure it feels good to play a game like that at home."
For Priskie, the term "home game" means a lot.
A native of Pembroke Pines, he's the first player born and raised in Broward County to suit up for the Panthers. In addition to learning the finer points of the game while lacing up his skates for local junior teams -- including the Jr. Panthers -- his father, Jeff, also used to work at what is now FLA Live Arena.

      Uncaged Short Shift: Homegrown

"I'm just trying to come in and play my game," said Priskie, who has notched 12 points (three goals, nine assists) in 22 games with the Checkers this season. "I know I can be an everyday player at [the NHL] level. It's just about coming in with that confidence and playing with swagger."
If an honor in the AHL and a game in the NHL wasn't enough, Priskie capped off an unforgettable few days by tying the knot with his longtime girlfriend and former NWHL player Cydney Roesler on Sunday.

Talk about a big week, right?
