Ludvig-Jansson

Ludvig Jansson played the role of hero for Sweden on Thursday.
With one goal already in his back pocket, the 19-year-old defenseman walked the puck into the offensive zone, maneuvered around a defender and lifted a backhand shot into the twine at 1:35 of overtime to help Sweden stay undefeated at the 2023 IIHF World Junior Championship with a 3-2 win over Czechia.

Opening the annual U20 best-on-best international tournament with three straight wins, Sweden currently leads Group A with eight points. Tied for first in scoring among all defensemen at the World Juniors, Jansson has recorded five points (two goals, three assists) in those three games.
Selected by the Panthers in the fourth round (125th overall) of the 2022 NHL Draft, Jansson, a 6-foot, 176-pound native of Stockholm, recorded six points (one goal, five assists) in 25 games with Södertälje SK of HockeyAllsvenskan prior to heading to Nova Scotia for the tournament.
