"I think it was a combination of mistakes because we were very good for 50 minutes. Some of it is youth but others are mistakes and we have to be better."
On losing after leading 3-0
"You've got to learn from these experiences. For three games in a row we've reversed the puck instead of keeping it in front of us and that gave them their first opportunity tonight. Last night the first goal was a reverse, against Vancouver we gave up a reverse and tonight the reverse gave them the first goal. We have to be better and work for 60 minutes."
On his message to the team during the time-out
"At that point, we're still in the game you have to keep going, keep driving, and have some poise with the puck because you can't give the puck away you have to want the puck."
Carolina Hurricanes Head Coach Peter Laviolette
On tonight's game
"It was a big game for us if we are going to close in on the division lead. It was disappointing to come out and play two periods like that...we should expect more of ourselves."
On Chad Larose's early 3rd period goal
"He's been playing great, he gives it everything he's got every shift. It's nice to see him rewarded with a couple of points in the last few games and then it just kind of unfolded from there. We picked up our game and it was a big goal to get us going."
On his thoughts after two periods
"It was frustrating because we are capable of beating anyone in the league and we are capable of a 3rd period like that and yet we don't compete very hard in the first two (periods) so it was a frustrating thing for everybody."
