Post-game Comments vs. Philadelphia

Coach Jacques Martin

Question: How do you feel about the performance tonight?

“I played a good game. I thought we played well. We didn’t give [the Flyers] very much. We had to kill penalties. I thought we did a great job penalty killing. We got some contributions from every line. I knew it wasn’t going to be an easy game. I thought we showed good patience. Eddie [Belfour] made some good saves when he had to, but I thought overall we played well.”

Question: How big was Nate Horton’s goal, putting you up 3-1?
“That was a big goal for sure. I thought that [Martin] Biron made some big saves in the second period. That was a real tough shot to beat [Biron]. It was a nice reassurance at that point.”

Nathan Horton
Question: Your goal put away the Flyers.

“We let down a bit and [the Flyers] had a few chances. Fortunately, we had Eddie [Belfour] in net for us. He’s played really well for a while now.”

Question: Talk about your goal.
“It was getting towards the end of my shift, so I just tried to get the puck to the net.”

Question: Is it important to get a goal like this heading into a playoff push?
“Definitely. It really feels good now. It was a big win for us. Eddie [Belfour] played well for us, and he’s going to keep playing well for us. We need to step up and play like him.”

David Booth
Question: Talk about your goal.

“It was a great job by Greg Campbell to win the draw. It was a good screen by [Rob] Globke. The shot hit him. It was a good shot from the point, I just picked up the rebound and got [the shot] off as quick as I could.”

Question: How important is it getting shots on net heading into the final stretch before the playoffs?
“We’ve been getting the chance to prove ourselves, and we’re doing that. I think that is why we’ve been getting more ice time lately. It’s easier to get in the game and get your feet moving, and good things have been happening.”
