![]() 2. PPG, Penalty Shot & 2-0 Lead: In the second the Panthers had their chances once again but the Hawks got on the board first thanks to a power play goal from their captain. With Dmitry Kulikov in the box for interference, Toews batted the puck past Tim Thomas 35 seconds into the man advantage off the feed from Duncan Keith. Florida had a great chance to tie the game when Jonathan Huberdeau was taken down on a breakaway, given a penalty shot on the play. Money on his two attempts last season, Huberdeau had Corey Crawford beat if he went with his backhand but instead went to the forehand and was denied by Crawford's pad four minutes following Chicago's goal. With 3:11 left in the period, Chicago potted their second goal of the game as Brian Bickell's initial shot was blocked but he beat a screened Thomas far side on the rush to give the visitors what would look to be an insurmountable regulation lead. 3. Comeback Nets Point: Florida kept plugging away and that lead was Chicago lead was erased in less than a three minute span midway through the third. First the Fleischmann, Barkov, Versteeg combined for a beautiful goal on the rush 9:04 in as Fleischmann finished off a one-timer off the feed from Barkov. Then 2:47 later, Kulikov intercepted a cross-ice clearing pass by Keith and fired a slap shot top shelf and far side on Crawford. Thomas left the game with an undisclosed injury late in the game forcing Jacob Markstrom into action and the Cats effort sent the game to overtime. A scoreless overtime saw Florida play in their second straight shootout but unlike Saturday night, Huberdeau and Brad Boyes were denied on their attempts while Toews and Patrick Sharp scored on theirs to give the Stanley Cup champs the second point in the game. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
